Welcome to the Max Planck Institute for Political and Social Science

At our institute, we explore pressing questions of social and political change. Drawing on political science and sociology, our research is grounded in a broad interdisciplinary perspective. The institute succeeds the former Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity and officially began operating under its new name in March 2026.
