Theres Matthieß is Assistant Professor of Empirical Democracy Research at the University of Göttingen. Her research interests include comparative political science, political representation, party competition, voting behavior, democratic legitimacy and resilience, as well as social groups and inequality. She is the principal investigator of several research projects, including the Franco-German project “Unequal Mandate Responsiveness” (UNEQUALMAND), funded by the DFG and ANR, and a project monitoring the fulfilment of coalition pledges in Germany since 2017 in cooperation with the Bertelsmann Foundation.
